Prevex sustainability

Our targets

At Prevex, we follow the guidelines of the GHG (Greenhouse Gas Protocol). In addition, we are committed to the targets set by SBTi (Science Based Target Initiative). This means that we work for a carbon-neutral future in accordance with the Paris Agreement with a goal of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees.

Target 1: 45% reduction in total carbon emissions

Prevex achieved operational carbon neutrality in 2023, thanks to investments in climate-neutral energy combined with carbon offsetting. In addition, we have reduced our total carbon emissions significantly, including indirect emissions in the value chain. The road is not always straightforward, however, – in 2025, we saw a small increase in carbon dioxide emissions as one of our sub-contractors had problems with raw material quality.

Target 2: Transition to lead-free products

In April 2025, Prevex launched its first lead-free product versions. This was the result of a long development process in which we sought alternatives to the brass used in some of our products. Brass contains lead, which is harmful to both people and the environment, and analyses show that eliminating lead is one of the most impactful environmental actions we can take. Our long-term goal is to completely phase out lead and replace it with engineering plastics and stainless steel.

Target 3: Plastic-free packaging

One of Prevex’s goals is to reduce the use of single-use plastics. That’s why we have begun work to offer alternatives to plastic packaging for our customers. By spring 2025, we had reached a point where we were technically ready to switch to cardboard packaging for customers who prefer it, and we had also started implementation with one customer. We also have plans to offer paper bags as a packaging option in the future.

Target 4: Product raw materials with a lower carbon footprint

60% of the plastic Prevex uses in its products is recycled. Currently, the recycled plastic comes from industry (rPP – recycled polypropylene). In the future, however, our goal is to use new materials with an even lower carbon footprint. Therefore, we are currently testing various materials to further increase the environmental benefit.
