The history of Prevex

For more than half a century already, Prevex has been in the plastics and injection moulding business. Our first water trap was produced already in 1970.

50+ years of injection moulding

  • 2023: Our operations in Poland end.
  • 2022: We switch to recycled plastics in all our products.
  • 2021: Automation assembly starts in Jakobstad.
  • 2019-2020: We switch to 100% renewable electricity in both our production facilities.
  • 2018: Packed with smart features, the Smartloc water trap is introduced on the market.
  • 2016: We acquire Polish company Winkiel.
  • 2015: The EasyClean water trap is launched – a product that can be cleaned in only 20 seconds.
  • 2005: We decide to focus 100% on water traps; the plastic packaging business is sold.
  • 2003: KWH Group becomes the single owner of Prevex after being a co-owner since 1984.
  • 1993: We receive the Scan-Star award for our packaging technology.
  • 1973: We start exporting our products.
  • 1970: First water traps are produced.
  • 1965: Injection moulding starts.
  • 1955: The company is founded. The field of business is extrusion of plastic pipes.
