Reliability and order keep Iris happy at Prevex

Iris Mannil’s job in Prevex’s assembly is partly physical, but also requires precision and speed.

Can you tell us a little about yourself and how you came to work at Prevex?

My name is Iris, and I am 37 years old. I live in Munsala in Nykarleby with my family, and I work as a production worker in Prevex’s assembly. I started working at Prevex as a substitute alongside my studies in the beginning of the 2000s. When I graduated, I worked in the hospitality industry for many years and travelled a lot in my work. As I got children, I wanted to move back to Nykarleby. I always liked working at Prevex and therefore I applied back in 2017.

What does your job in the assembly contain?

I assemble and pack company products before they are sent away. There are a lot of things to keep track of and we are at full speed all day. My work is partly physically heavy, and it helps to have strong arms and legs. We rotate between workstations in the assembly hall, for variation and for us not to overly exert any part of the body with repeated movement. Going home after work I am always in a good mood.

What is the best part about your work?

The best part of my job is the joy of working and my colleagues. We are 23 people in the hall where I work, and my department has about as many women as men. My job satisfaction comes from everything being so well organised here. We know what to do, and when and how to do it. Prevex is a reliable workplace.

What challenges do you meet in your work?

We must keep up a certain tempo in our work, while it is important that we retain good quality in the products we pack. We need to be precise and make sure everything is correctly done. Everything we put into a bag or a box must be of high quality and neatly packed.

What is it like to work at Prevex? How do you view your future within the company?

Prevex is good at seeing and taking care of its personnel. Here your voice is heard and received in a friendly manner, and there are never any big problems. I view Prevex’s future very positively. It is a growing company that is continuously developing. Whatever I wish to work with in the future, I hope I can find it within the company.
