This summer, Prevex introduced a new line for cardboard packaging. Customers can now choose to have their water traps packaged in cardboard instead of plastic.
– We already have customers who are using the cardboard packaging option. Thanks to this, we will be able to reduce our consumption of single-use plastic by 12 tons this year, says Niclas Caldén, Senior Advisor at Prevex.
In addition to being environmentally friendly, the advantages of cardboard packaging are that it is decorative, stable, and also resealable. The cardboard packaging can also be printed.
– The investment in a cardboard line is an important step in reducing the amount of single-use plastic. Packaging accounts for half of all plastic waste in Europe, and single-use plastic causes littering and environmental problems, says Caldén.

The plastic bags are also sustainable
Traditionally, Prevex packages its products in plastic bags. The plastic packaging is also more environmentally friendly than before, as it is made from 50 percent recycled plastic. The plastic consists of post-consumer recycled material, or so-called PCR.
– We also have plans to introduce paper bags as an alternative packaging method in the future. The technical development is underway, says Caldén.
