News September 25, 2020 Back to news Solar power makes Prevex even more sustainable Prevex has installed solar panels on the wall of its production facilities in Nykarleby, Finland. Under optimal conditions, the panels produce 18 600 kWh monthly, which is enough to provide all electricity needed for Prevex’ office facilities. The solar panels have been in use since August 2020.“We are actively looking for ways to lower our carbon footprint. Installing solar panels was a natural step in this process”, explains CEO Marko Nylund.Prevex has for a while already increased the usage of various renewable energy sources. Last year, Prevex’ factory in Finland switched to 100% renewable electricity produced by hydro power. Furthermore, the heating of the facilities is produced with biofuels.
